Health Ministry

St. Raymond Health Ministry is a very active ministry with many ways to volunteer. Between setting up medical screenings and blood donation drives twice a year, medical professionals volunteer their time to take blood pressures on the second Sunday of every month. We might just save your life! One of the most important services we do is to visit the sick. When needed we do grocery shopping for them and take them to doctor’s appointments. Occasionally we provide food, medical appliances and, of course, prayers.  You don’t have to be a professional to help—can you sign up blood donors after mass or guide people at health screenings? Would you like to bring happiness to someone who is ill? This is a very rewarding ministry. We get back more than what we put into it. Some of the nicest people are in our ministry and have become life-long friends.

Cancer Support Group:

St. Raymond Health Ministry formed this group to fill a need expressed by cancer patients and their families several years ago. They needed to share their experiences with people who knew what they were going through. So we share, laugh and pray together and provide pamphlets, brochures and other general information on cancer, treatments, nutrition, etc. The group meets once a month on the last Monday at 5 pm in St. Thomas Room, and maintains phone support as necessary.
