Annointing the Sick
This Sacrament brings the healing of the Lord in mind, body and spirit. When someone is ill and in need of peace they should be anointed. If you are scheduled for surgery ask after mass to be anointed before you go to the hospital, or call and arrange for anointing. This sacrament name was changed by the Vatican II Council to show the healing powers and to differentiate between this and the “Last Rites,” which are the funeral mass and burial.
